The glass is filled with color distilled water. When atmospheric pressure rises, the liquid in the indicator tube is pushed down. When air pressure falls, the liquid in the indicator tube rises. Includes instructions.

      The glass water barometer has been a simple way to forecast the impending weather changes up to 12 hours in advance. A high pressure weather system will result in a lower fluid level in the glass spout and generally means fair weather. While a low pressure weather system will result in a higher fluid level in the glass spout and generally means foul weather. A drip catcher is included which is under the glass barometer for those days when thunderstorms arrive with their very low pressure and the fluid may overflow a bit.
